It better than letting a Insurance company artificially inflate the price of the digital cars to the point we can't even afford them in a video game now. IDK why racing games as a whole have moved away from this (Other than just to sell them as DLC) but I like having 5 or 6 cars that you have to earn. Not only do you have a well crafted stucture, but you get rewarded with some pretty cool cars too. as cars become more competitive, you as a driver are better equipped to handle that. By the time you get into the higher championships with faster cars, and things sort of. Instead your forced to learn about each car, how to drive it at it's limits, and struggle a little bit, which is nice. The point is, the championships and the AI is crafted in such a way, you can't just buy the "BEST" car and blow through. The third champsionship lets you race the Jaguar MK2, like a true gentlemen racer. You also move to faster tracks that favor the cars your racing against, so you have to learn how to slide and race with your elbows out. The second champsionship moves to the Cortina, and puts you against not just other touring cars, but a pair of select GT cars too. The tracks are simple, the car is super easy to drive, but the AI is still challenging enough to force you to push the car to it's limits and learn what the Mini Cooper can do. What I mean is, GTL isn't just "Do X race to win Y and adavance the career", but it actually acts as a interesting teaching tool to learn how to drive these cars as well as the clear advantages/disadvatages of each car within a given class.įor example, the first championship has you drive the Mini Cooper in a 1 make series with 2 short races. Back in 2003/4, I don't think people appecated just how lifeless and goaless modern racing games (Not just sims) would feel 20 or so years later. To me, this is one of the coolest things about going back to GTL. So with that, lets hit the good/unique things. To be clear, this the straight from Steam version of GTL with no mods what so ever. But dear god, I can't believe how differently the FFB acts and how driving feels compaired to a modern game. (Casher put it in the wrong bag and I didn't notice until I got home.) In some ways GTL holds up suprisingly well, and it still has some tracks/cars that haven't offically featured in any of the modern sims. GTL is how I got my start in simracing after I accdently stole a copy from my school's bookfair in like 4th grade. I my humbled opinion, Bazza is doing this community a real service! We owe himWhile we await the Reiza DLC Christmas Extravaganza of 2022, I desided to fill the one discipline that AMS 2 features but isn't very well flushed out yet, vintage GT/Touring car racing, by reinstalling GT Legends. In contrast, there are real scammers out there, who actually sell blatantly converted low poly cars from other games, seemingly without permission from the original authors/studios, and without any work or effort put towards making even only remotely correct physics. I'm not even sure if I'd still be playing Assetto Corsa today, if it were not for his GPL, F11975, GT and Touring Car packs.įor me, it does not get any better then taking the 312T, the 49, the 917, or the old RSR, and running it against a field of time period correct competitor cars and drivers. He's putting a lot of effort in them, an he's not trying to sell or make any profit from it in any way Also I'm pretty sure, that I, as well as many others too, do own all the titles that any of the cars used could have been taken from. The packs of vintage cars he's putting together are a revelation if you are looking to put together a field of AIs. This is so me.(and most of these are in AC now stock and with mods) I wish AC had more classic and vintage stuff like this. I brought the DRM pack cause even tho some of the graphics are not up to standards of Kunos cars (and few minor issues), god they are fun to drive and they sound real nice. I Like to wrestle the cars around the track. I own all AC DLC, and I don't mind paying for good mods, and really appreciate mods people have made.ĪC has so few classic cars and they are my joy to drive (having a class of similar cars without mods is not easily possible in AC). So based on the video description mods list, are then ALL these mods rips?Ĭause I love driving the F1 1975 pack and 1967 Grand Prix Legends pack cars
